Saints Constantine and Helen

This hand-painted Orthodox icon depicts Saints Constantine and Helen standing together on either side of the Cross. Emperor Constantine holds the Cross while his mother, Saint Helen, stands beside him, creating one of the most recognizable compositions associated with the two saints.

Painted in the Byzantine iconographic tradition using egg tempera on a solid gessoed wood panel, the icon combines carefully rendered figures with rich colors and gold-leaf details. The matte varnish provides a subtle, refined finish while preserving the character of the painted surface.

Saint Constantine the Great and his mother, Saint Helen, are traditionally depicted together holding or standing beside the Cross.
