Handmade Greek Orthodox icon of Virgin Mary the Three Joys – This is a premium quality silkscreen icon handmade with gold mirror effect canvas and solid wood.

The “Three Joys” icon from which later examples descend was said to have been brought from Italy near the beginning of the 18th century.  And in Italian art, paintings depicting  Mary and the child Jesus along with Joseph and the young John the Forerunner are very common.  So this icon is another of those adopted into Russian Orthodoxy from Roman Catholic art.
