Theotokos Holy Belt Icon (polished gold halo)

This beautiful hand-painted icon depicts the Most Holy Theotokos with the Holy Belt, traditionally known in Greek as the Agia Zoni. The Theotokos is shown frontally, holding the sacred belt extended between her hands. Painted using traditional egg tempera on a thick natural wood panel, this icon combines established iconographic technique with detailed gilding and a polished engraved gold halo.

The Holy Belt is one of the most important relics traditionally associated with the earthly life of the Most Holy Theotokos. In Orthodox Christian tradition, the belt was preserved by the Church and became a treasured sign of the presence and protection of the Mother of God.
