Virgin of Vladimir Icon

Handmade Greek Orthodox icon of Virgin of Vladimir. This is a premium quality silkscreen icon handmade with gold leaf on canvas and solid carved wood.
The image is screen printed on cotton canvas and gold leaf is applied by hand. Halos, letters, and other ornaments are hand-painted. The canvas is then mounted on a solid natural carved wood board and varnished for long-lasting protection. The icon is ready for hanging, featuring a leather strap on the back and a certificate of authenticity.

WHY SILKSCREEN? IS IT BETTER THAN STANDARD ICON PRINTS?
– Silkscreen printing produces higher fidelity results with more vibrant colors which are hard to replicate using other printing techniques. It also allows for sharper, cleaner lines and more well-defined details.
– Silkscreen printing deposits a thicker layer of ink during the process, which results in more pigment on the material keeping the colors vibrant longer without ever losing the quality of the print.
