Christ the Savior Icon

This premium Orthodox icon is made using the traditional silkscreen technique on cotton canvas, mounted on solid natural carved wood with a raised border (kovcheg). The background features a polished gold gilding effect (burnished mirror finish), reflecting divine light and eternity.

It includes an integrated wooden stand for placement on a desk or shelf, and a hole on the back for wall hanging. The icon is varnished for long-lasting protection and comes with a certificate of authenticity.

Iconography & Symbolism
The Christ the Savior Icon (Greek: Ὁ Χριστός Ὁ Σωτήρ) depicts Jesus Christ blessing with His right hand and holding the Gospel in His left — symbolizing His role as Redeemer, Teacher, and Judge. His calm yet majestic expression embodies divine mercy united with wisdom and authority.

Next to His head appear the Greek letters IC XC, meaning “Jesus Christ.” Within His halo is the cross inscribed with Ω Ο Ν (Omega, Omicron, Nu) – “He Who Is,” the name of God revealed to Moses, affirming Christ’s eternal divinity.

This icon, often placed in the center of the iconostasis or above the Royal Doors, reminds the faithful of Christ’s omnipresent love and His power to save.
